I was in a car accident and compound fractured and dislocated my talus.  The first doctor that saw my injury wanted to amputate below the knee, saying I would never walk on this foot again.    Dr. Bluman came in and said he could try a new type of surgery, and after 9 times under the knife he saved my leg.  This is when he was just a resident at RI Hospital.... He was so nice and personal that my parents had fresh lobster and steamers sent to him....  I remember asking him if I would ever be able to play basketball again, he said if you work hard enough yes!!!!  After a long recovery and many years of trying to get the most mobility out of my ankle.  I am proud to say I have been able to play full court 5 on 5 basketball now, something i thought I would never do!!!!  When I saw Dr. Bluman on TV and he had helped the boston bombing victims... I was amazed that he had done my surgeries and was now one of the best doctors in his field!!!!  Thank you Dr. Bluman for saving my leg and quality of life, I can run and play with my 5 yr old son and that is the best gift I could have!!!!!!!  I give 5 STARS!!!!!!
