We took my 4 year old daughter in for a cast.  After they x-rayed her, he decided a short cast would be fine on her leg instead of a long. She was screaming when they were putting her cast on and the nurse told my daughter "that is enough" in a very harsh tone.  When we picked her up to take her home, she continued to scream as if she were in pain and Dr. Boone told me it was just her knee that we stiff, she was scared, and she was being "mean."  We felt his lack of concern and felt like he was just brushing us off.  After we got her home, she never wanted to moved.  When we had to take her to the bathroom, she would scream and tremble.  I finally spoke with a relative of ours that is an orthopedic surgeon and she informed me that he should have done a long cast.  She drove an hour or so to our house to splint her the rest of the way up her leg (to stabilize her knee) and she is now comfortable in us moving her whenever needed.
